Lorena is General Director of Performance Monitoring and Information Analysis in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in Mexico. She has an MSc in Law and Economics from the University of Bologna, Italy and the Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research, India and an LL.M by the University of Hamburg, Germany. She started working at the Ministry of Finance in 2011 for the development of the fiscal transparency policies, where she has been in charge of the development of the Fiscal Transparency Portal, which includes several platforms related to transparency in expenditures, construction and open data. She is also in charge of the monitoring of federal government performance through objective indicators to encourage performance based budgeting. Her experience also accounts for the collaboration with the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency and the implementation and monitoring of International Anticorruption Conventions.
