Maria Fernanda Martin has a B.Sc. in Animal Science from the São Paulo State University in Brazil, and an M.Sc. in Animal Behavior and Welfare from the São Paulo State University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Since 2017 she works as the Corporate Policy and Program Manager for Humane Society International (HSI) in Brazil, working with major food and hospitality companies in the adoption and implementation of animal welfare policies including the use of cage-free eggs and crate-free pork. Maria also engages with financial institutions and with egg and pig producers to improve their practices to higher animal welfare standards.
